WorldStar is the global packaging awards program of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), widely regarded as the pre-eminent international recognition for packaging design, innovation, and sustainability. Entry is restricted to packaging that has already won an award in one of roughly 75-85 WPO-recognized national or regional packaging competitions in the current or previous year — there is no direct-entry route for unproven packs. Categories span major packaging types alongside Special Awards for Sustainability, Marketing, Packaging that Saves Food, and Accessible Packaging. Around 200 winners are typically selected from 300+ qualifying entries spanning 30+ countries, with winners honored at an international gala tied to a major packaging trade fair.

Entry fee

€650 for the first entry, €500 for each additional entry; Special Award category entries (Sustainability, Marketing, Packaging that Saves Food, Accessible Packaging) are €650 each and require an entry in a main category first

Award / prize

No cash prize — winners receive a WorldStar trophy and certificate, worldwide media recognition, and rights to use the winner's logo on packaging and promotional materials
