The Schweizer Designwettbewerb, publicly branded as the Swiss Design Awards, is Switzerland's federal design competition, open to Swiss citizens or Switzerland-resident designers working in graphic design, product design, fashion and textile design, photography, scenography and mediation, design research, or media and interaction design. The competition runs in two rounds: entrants first submit a dossier, and the commission's selected applicants are invited to a second round where they present their work as part of the public Swiss Design Awards exhibition, held annually in Basel during Art Basel each June. Seventeen prizes of CHF 25,000 each are awarded.

Award / prize
17 Swiss Design Awards of CHF 25,000 each; designers invited to the second round also receive a CHF 1,000 exhibition contribution. A related but separate honor, the Grand Prix Design (CHF 40,000), goes to established Swiss designers and is not part of this open competition.
