Now in its 11th edition, Kingspan MICROHOME challenges architects, designers, and creative thinkers to develop a modular, self-sufficient, energy-efficient microhome with a maximum footprint of 25 square meters for a hypothetical young professional couple. The competition is open to entrants of any professional background and includes dedicated Buildner Student and Sustainability Awards alongside the main placings and the sponsor-funded Kingspan Award. All submissions must be in English.

Entry fee

€140 (professional/enthusiast) or €120 (student) single registration fee plus 4.5% VAT, payable in full or via installments; registration open through Sep 30, 2026

Award / prize

€100,000 total prize fund: €55,000 in Buildner prizes (1st €30,000, 2nd €10,000, 3rd €5,000, plus Student and Sustainability Awards), plus a separate €30,000 Kingspan Award and three €5,000 Kingspan Compliments
