Winter Stations 2027: Monument

Winter Stations — Canada
Architecture competition visual

Winter Stations is a Toronto-based not-for-profit that has run an annual design competition since 2015, turning the lifeguard stations along the city's eastern beaches into temporary art and architecture installations. The 2027 theme, "Monument", asks entrants to question what deserves commemoration today and to challenge traditional ideas of permanence and significance. The competition is open to anyone from any country, at any age and level of experience, entering individually or as a team. Winning teams receive an honorarium and a materials and labour budget to build their installation.
