Interior/Furniture Design / Product/Industrial Design competition visual

Open Chair, run by UK-based Creathlon in partnership with Aibuild, invites students, professionals, and design enthusiasts worldwide to reimagine the chair through the lens of digital fabrication and open-source design. Entrants submit a full-scale chair designed to be 3D-printed on a home printer, assembled with minimal tools, and shared as a reproducible design for others to build. Teams are permitted alongside individual entries.

Early Bird: £5 (individual) / £10 (team); Regular: £15 / £25; Late: £25 / £35

Award / prize

£1,000 total: 1st place £600, 2nd place £300, 3rd place £100, plus 5 honorable mentions (certificates)

Digital submission (max 15MB combined): two 3D-print files (.STL) showing the assembled chair and individual parts, an A2 landscape board (JPG) with visualizations and an assembly guide, an A2 portrait poster (JPG), and a project description (PDF, max 500 words)
