Red Dot Award: Design Concept is the branch of the Red Dot Design Award dedicated to ideas that have not yet reached the market. Companies, design studios, professionals, students, universities, research labs and inventors can enter in two tracks, Professional and Next Gen, under either "Concept" (early-stage ideas and prototypes) or "Ready For Market" (nearly finished products or services not available before 2 July 2027). Registration opens 1 December 2026, with early, standard and late submission phases running through 28 April 2027; prototypes or models are delivered 19 April to 3 May. Judging concludes in May, results are sent in June, and the award ceremony, museum exhibition and yearbook follow in October in Singapore. Next Gen entries receive 30% off both the submission fee and the Winner Package.

Award / prize

No cash prize stated: winners receive the Red Dot label and are presented at an October awards ceremony in Singapore, with a museum exhibition, yearbook publication and online exhibition (via a mandatory paid Winner Package)
