AIA International Design Awards 2026
American Institute of Architects (AIA) International — United States
The AIA International Design Awards, run by the American Institute of Architects' International chapter, recognize built and unbuilt work by AIA-affiliated architects on projects located anywhere outside the US and its territories. The 2026 program spans seven categories: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Urban Design, Unbuilt Projects, Firm Award, Sustainable Future Award (developed with Dow), and Inclusive Design Excellence Award. Non-AIA members may enter but must complete an AIA membership application as part of submission. The 2026 submission deadline is Friday, August 14, 2026 at 5:00pm Eastern US time, with winners celebrated at the AIA International Conference in Cairo on November 14, 2026.

$350 USD (AIA International members) / $475 USD (AIA US-chapter members); non-members must also purchase current-year AIA membership to enter
Award / prize
No cash prize identified — winners receive AIA International Honor Award or Merit Award designation, recognition at the AIA International Conference (Cairo, November 2026) and the AIA Conference on Architecture and Design (Philadelphia, 2027), plus features on the AIA International website and in publications.

Submission format
Primary jury-review submission is a PDF (max 20 pages, max 10MB) with at least 3 project photographs plus floor plans, site plans, elevations, and sections. Separate high-resolution (300dpi+) images are required for exhibition/publication if the entry is selected.
